Sunflowers

So today I was deciding which of my new 'Kiko' polishes I should swatch for the blog, when I received a text from one of my best friends. My friend and I both adore sunflowers, and while she was away travelling she had a sunflower sent to me on my birthday! It was such a lovely surprise! So when I received this text I thought about the sunflower, and that has completely inspired my next nail art design!

I drew the petals with a cocktail stick, as well as dotting the brown with a cocktail stick too. I then outlined the petals with a white nail art pen and dotted the gold seeds with a gold nail art pen.
I used Kiko in 'Spring Green' (343) as the base colour.

This was also my first time using Kiko nail lacquer, and although its not the most expensive brand, it is really nice to apply, not too thin but not too thick and lumpy. I was extremely impressed with the brand.

Hope you like it!

Essie, Muchi Muchi

Hello everyone!
Sorry I haven't been very active on here recently, I was in Spain visiting my sister who is currently Au pairing over there.
Of course, while I was there my nail obsession did not stop! I came away with a range of 'Kiko' varnishes, which were given to me as a gift, and two 'Essie' polishes!
I was so excited to use them! I went for one of the 'Essie' polishes to swatch for you first.

It's a lovely pale shade of pink called 'Muchi Muchi'. When I applied it, the colour was rather clear, allowing any imperfections in the nail to show quite obviously. So I ended up applying three coats as well as a top and base coat, but overall it gives a beautiful manicure. I think this would be an ideal polish to use as part of a French manicure too, as it it quite thin...maybe I'll give it a go and let you know how it turns out!
Here it is!

Jermyn street

After my galaxy nails, (which lasted for almost a week with no chips!) I decided to go for something a bit more relaxed...not so exciting but still lovely.

I used my nails inc 'Jermyn street' to create a plain yet sophisticated look.
Here it is :

To make it slightly more interesting I added a square gem to my ring finger, simple but effective!

I hope you like it !

Galaxy Nails

It was my birthday on the 1st of August, and in the evening we sat outside and watched the stars as it was such a clear night. It was beautiful, and there were so many shooting stars, which was such a lovely surprise for my birthday! So, seeing the starry night really inspired me to try out the galaxy nails which are very popular at the moment!

I decided to use glitter as the stars rather than draw them on in white, which is just personal preference! It would work just as well if you used a dotting tool or cocktail stick to draw the stars on with white or silver varnish.

Here is how they turned out:

Here are the different polishes I used, the black as the background; the blues, pink and purple as the colour (which is the galaxy part of the design) are all sponged on using the make-up sponge; and the Jessica glitter was used for stars, plus the OPI living daylights, which I applied single pieces of glitter using a cuticle stick! But really any colours and glitter polish would work perfectly, just as long as a sponge is used to apply them.

I hope you like them!

Let me know if you have any questions!

Tropical Sun

Today I decided to keep it simple with a simple colour swatch of 'Tropical Sun' by Models Own, from their 'Beetlejuice' collection. I have never been a massive fan of the Beetlejuice collection (the greens and blues aren't really my thing) but this shade in 'Tropical Sun' really caught my eye!
The pink/orange shade has very summery vibe to it, with the tiniest glints of glitter in it which give its beautiful metallic look.
Here are the pictures :
